  • Athenian Font   (The Perseus Project)

    • TrueType "Athenian" is part of GreekKeys, the Macintosh/Windows font + keyboard package designed by George B. Walsh and Jeffrey Rusten, and owned by the American Philological Association.  The font contains all common ancient Greek (polytonic) accents and symbols; it is to be used on Macintosh and Windows (3.1 or 95) for READING Classical Greek with Perseus (on the Web page or the CD version) and in other publicly available ancient Greek texts.

  • BibleScript $ (Galaxie Software)

    • BibleScript Greek and Hebrew Font package includes right-to-left Hebrew utility for Microsoft Word 97/2000 with a new set of macros for converting all the other Greek and Hebrew fonts in your documents to Galaxie Greek and Hebrew fonts so that documents don't have a messy looking mixture of Greek and Hebrew Fonts.

  • Gary S. Dykes Fonts

    • Very nice Greek fonts are available for Greek, as well as other biblical languages.

    • These true type fonts are for the discriminating biblical author and those engaged in and writing about textual criticism.

  • Greek Font Help  (The Perseus Project).

    •  Information and the fonts SGreek and Athenian (see above).  These fonts are required to read the Greek pages at the Perseus site.

  • Greek TrueType Fonts
    • Three free Greek TrueType fonts are available at this site for both document and browser formats: Arial, Courier New, and Times New Roman.
  • Greek Typefaces (Dr. Berlin)
    • Close to twenty different free Greek font faces from which to choose.  Also, macros for Word 2.0/95/97 and WordPerfect 6.1 and 7 are available.  All files are contained in Zip format.

    • Information and sales of commercial fonts.

  • Hellenic Resources Network
    • Site provide installation and usage instructions on reading, writing and printing in Greek, as well as some tips on how to e-mail in Greek, and spell check your Greek text.   The following platforms are supported: Apple Macintosh systems, Unix, Windows 3.1/3.11/95/98/NT 3.51/4.0.  Also there are several links for Greek font converts for Gibberish to Elot928 and Elot928 to Greek ASCII.
    • Greek lessons in RealAudio as well as a Greek spell checker is offered.
  • LaserGreek
    • Professional-quality, hinted, scalable fonts in both TrueType® and ATM®-compatible, Type 1 language font formats.
    • LaserGreek includes all 35 accents, breathing marks, iota subscripts, and diereses needed to type classical and Biblical Greek.  These may be typed over any symbol in any combination.
    • Each font also includes the Nestle-Aland, UBS, Leiden, and TLG text-critical symbols and sigla as well as the Roman alphabet and French and German accents.
    • The Windows and Macintosh fonts are ASCII-compatible with each other and with LaserGreek II fonts, allowing easy file conversion between Windows and Macintosh platforms.

    • Jonathan Robie maintains this page that provides helpful information and actual samples of several Greek fonts. 

  • Mounce's Greek Font

    • Bill Mounce's introductory Greek grammar, Basics of Biblical Greek, has become a standard.  His site, Teknia, has several programs that use this font.

  • Paradigm Software Development Greek Font

    • Greek font that is easy to read in documents.  The font comes with the Word keyboard mapping for the font.

    • Also needed is a file named "gr-keybr.doc" saved in the MS Word format with a keyboard map showing you the Greek letters which will correspond to the English letters of your keyboard.

  • ParaType $

    • Commercial fonts are available for many non-Latin alphabets, including Greek.

  • Phonetic fonts

  • Shareware Greek Fonts for the PC (Matthew Robinson)

    • This site includes links to several Greek fonts, as well as information concerning macros for using these fonts in Word and WordPerfect.

  • SIL Greek Font System

    • Site has become a standard for those who are seeking fonts on the WWW.

    • Site has the SILGalatia font plus various utilities, including a Mac keyboard program. 

    • In theory the Windows and Mac versions of the font should be interchangeable, so that a document saved on one platform and converted for use on the other should preserve the text.

    • NB: The above conversion works only if you create the document with Office97 and save it as Macintosh Word 5.1 format; but if you create the document on the Mac, or if you convert the Office97 document on the Mac, the characters are not converted correctly.

  • Silver Mountain Software $

    • Silver Fonts provides the necessary tools to write Greek, Hebrew, and Latin in any Windows application.  These fonts can also be used to display Greek when viewing the Perseus web site. The Silver Fonts are shareware.
    • The Silver Fonts have been updated to work with Word 97/2000 and to automatically install.
  • SPIonic | Font used on InTheBeginning.org.

    • Public domain fonts that are designed to work on both Windows computers and Macs.  Fonts for Hebrew, Greek, Syriac, Coptic, and Semitic-language transliteration.

    • Mac and Windows: SPEzra and SPTiberian (Hebrew), SPIonic (Greek), SPEdessa (Syriac), SPAchmim (Coptic), and SPAtlantis (transliteration). All fonts by Jimmy Adair.

    • Documentation is limited to a brief README file for each font set.  It is assumed that users know how to install Windows or Macintosh fonts.  The documentation fully explains the keyboard mapping of each character set.

  • WinGreek Fonts | Information and macros

  • WP Language Assistants (William Smouter)

    • Add-on program to enter Greek, Hebrew, and Cyrillic in WordPerfect.

    • Freeware.

  • Yamada Language Center

    • Greek fonts include, GGB, GreekGeneva, Grk, Grk0, Greek Typist, International Greek, Koine, IsminiGreek, and Sinaiticus.  Help is also available for installing new fonts, and additional links are provided.
