Mr. Iain MacMillan of The Grove Bible Fellowship delivered a series of messages entitled, Life Is ONLY In The Resurrection between January 4, 2009 and June 28, 2009.  This series of audio lessons establishes by scriptural context God's truth concerning the importance of the resurrection. 

In the Garden as recorded in Genesis 3:4, Satan declared, "You will NOT surely die."  His contradiction to God's earlier proclamation, "you shall surely die" (Genesis 2:17), was the first, and perhaps his most profound deception to mankind.  This is the same lie that he, the father of all lies, still propagates today.  It has infiltrated into Christianity to the degree that many have been unwittingly deceived that they will not actually die at death, but instead continue to live and immediately ascend into "heaven" without the scriptural mandate for resurrection or judgment.  As a result, the concept of an immortal soul has integrated into Christian doctrine to buttress Satan's lie.

Satan's lie and the unscriptural concept of an immortal soul dilutes not only Jesus Christ's resurrection, but also the necessity of the resurrection of "those who are Christ's at His coming" (1 Corinthians 15:23) when He inaugurates His glorious earthly Kingdom.  On the one hand, Satan's lie attempts to eradicate God's decree: "the wages for sin is death" (Romans 6:23).   On the other hand, Life Is ONLY In The Resurrection exposes Satan's lie by asserting the scriptural necessity of the resurrection, the crux of the New Testament writings.  The truth that we are truly dead until the resurrection must again be established, and only then can the implications of Satan's lie be unraveled for what it is.

We must counter Satan's lie by arming ourselves with God's truth that Life Is ONLY In The Resurrection.  Only then will we walk by faith with our hope fixed on "the blessed hope" (Titus 2:13), Jesus Christ's return and resurrecting to life those who are His when He comes to establish His Kingdom.
