Synopsis
Lesson One introduces the sight and sounds of
the twenty-four Greek alphabetical characters.
The letters and their phonetic sounds are introduced in this
lesson and further developed in lessons two through five.
Mastering the sight and sounds of the Greek alphabet lays the
cornerstone for learning the sight and sounds of Greek words in
all subsequent lessons. The first and single most
important step in learning New Testament Greek is to memorize
the sight and sounds of the alphabet. Students who do not
thoroughly learn the Greek alphabet are sowing the seed for
future failure. Lesson One
motivates the student to learn to say and
write
the Greek alphabet in its alphabetical order.
A phonetic pronunciation system is integrated
with MP3 audio files. More than
thirty-four audio links and twenty-four animated files span the
twenty page lesson to help correctly pronounce and form the
characters of the Greek alphabet. The Study Guide, which is
included at the end of Lesson One, integrates five different
exercises with Lesson One to reinforce the learning of the Greek
alphabet.
Study Aids
The
following study aids are designed to reinforce the material presented in
Lesson One. An "answer key" is provided when necessary. The
different levels represent an escalating level of difficulty. It
is recommended to begin with the least difficult exercises in Level One
and proceed through Level Three to receive the maximum benefit from the
exercises. All PDF links open in a new window.
You may download all the
paginated study aids for Lesson One in a ZIP file by clicking
