May I use my credit card instead of PayPal to make my purchase?

The short answer is, "Yes, you can." You may also use your credit card without opening an account with PayPal. The payment process is easy and very quick. Whether you use your credit card or PayPal account, all information is 128-bit encrypted on a secure server so that your personal information and payment is protected.

How do I make a purchase by credit card, Echeck, or PayPal?

All purchases may be made by credit card, Echeck, or PayPal.

When the "Add to Bag" button is clicked to add the selection to the shopping cart, a popup window appears in the middle of the screen (like the one below). Notice too that a shopping bag appears in the far bottom right hand corner of the screen after you have maded your first selection. The Shopping Bag may be clicked at any time to review and/or delete any previous choices. If you do not see this window, be sure that popup windows are allowed for this website (https://www.inthebeginning.org)!

If you wish to continue to shop, then simply click on the green "Continue Shopping" image in the upper right hand corner and navigate the website to make another selection. After you have made all of your selections, review your order and then tick the "I agree with Terms and conditions" checkbox, and then click on the "Checkout" button.

After your account information has been verified and purchase made, you may IMMEDIATELY (unless payment was made by Echeck) access your diagrams by signing into your account. The "My Account" green menu bar is on all NTGreek In Diagram web pages, located in the top menu. If necessary, enter your email address and password when the popup window appears. All diagrams are located under "Downloads" in your account and associated with your order date. As more diagram sets are added and/or updated, you may return and obtain them, regardless of when you purchased the diagrams.

After your purchase, an email is also immediately sent to the email address associated with your account. This email contains detailed information for accessing your account. If you not see the email in your Inbox, please check your spam folder.

May I send my payment by snail mail?

To ensure that you have access to your order 24/7/365, all orders must be conducted through the store via a credit card or e-Check. Therefore, payment via snail mail is not permitted.

snailmail

Do I need to open a store account when I make a purchase?

Yes, you are required to open an account to make payment. This guarantees that you will always have access to automated password recovery 24/7/365 days a year without requiring any intervention from me.

All your account information, as well as your username and password, are stored on Amazon's EC2 servers. The encryption is the state of the art.

https All NTGreek In Diagram web pages are also protected with 128-bit encryption. Did you notice the "https" in the URL address bar? This ensures that all information from your browser to the server is secure. Not only does it protect page authenticity, but also securing accounts and keeping user communications, identity, and web browsing private. In other words, all personal and account information is secure when making an on-line purchase via NTGreek In Diagram.

Furthermore, for your browsing security, there are NOT any Google tracking scripts or other information gathering nonsense employed on any of NTGreek In Diagram's web pages. Your browsing history is kept private and confidential.

Just in case if you are wondering, "https" is an acronym for "Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure." What is ironic, it is not a protocol in itself; rather a layering the Hypertext Transfer Protocol on top of the SSL/TLS protocol, thus adding the security capabilities of SSL/TLS to standard HTTP communications.

May I make payment with an eCheck?

eCheckAnother convenient way to make a purchase is to pay by eCheck (or electronic check). Anyone with a checking account can pay by eCheck. An eCheck is a payment that you make directly from your bank accout. Just like a regular check, it usually takes between 3 and 5 business days for an eCheck to clear and the money to appear in my account. At check out, specify that you wish to make payment by eCheck.

Paying with an electronic check is similar to a paper check transaction but without the paper. You pay directly from your checking account, and it is processed through the system banks use for electronic deposits and payments. It is safe, easy and free! However, because there is a delay for the eCheck to clear the bank, you will not have access to your purchased diagrams until then. When the eCheck clears the bank, then a notification is automatically sent to you advising you that you may now access the diagrams.

These are the steps to pay by eCheck:

  • Log in to your PayPal account.
  • Click Send Money.
  • Enter the required information.
  • Click Continue.
  • Click Change.
  • Select eCheck.
  • Click Continue.
  • Review the information and click "Send Money" to complete the transaction.

During the process, you are required to provide the following information. The information required is printed on your paper check. PayPal uses this information to debit your payment amount directly from your checking account.

  • Your bank routing number.
  • Your bank account number (typically a checking account).
  • The name on your bank account.

If you are in a rush, then do NOT select eCheck as your method of payment. Remember that it takes AT LEAST three days before your check clears and you are able to access your purchased diagrams.

Are group discounts available for my Greek class?

Several Greek professors have already integrated these diagrams as part of their students' course work. As an encouragement for others to do the same, there are group discounts available. There is not a minimum how many students must sign up before they receive the discount; it may be five or twenty students. The only requirements are:

  • Students are currently enrolled at an educational institution.
  • The Professor acts on their behalf by submitting a request for a discount

Please contact me for further information.

Is there a discount available because I am in the ministry or in seminary?

The only discount available at this time is through your Greek professor as a group discount.

What format is used for the diagrams?

All diagrams are distributed in unrestricted PDF format. PDF documents maintain the look and layout of the original and may be viewed on any tope of computer or mobile device, whether the Windows, Macintosh, UNIX, OS/2 platforms. All diagrams may be viewed by Adobe Reader 5.x or above. It is prudent to ensure that the latest version of Adobe Reader is installed on your computer to prevent any possible incompatibility issues. There is not a charge to obtain the latest and best version from Adobe. The link to obtain the FREE Adobe Reader for your computer platform is: Adobe Reader.

Other PDF readers are also available without cost or on a "Free Trial" basis.

Are all diagrams included although I do not see them in the screen shots?

The screen shots are representative pages from a diagram set or collection. The purchased diagram set or collection includes all the diagrams.

Will I be able to use the diagrams on my IPad or Android tablet?

If your mobile device can download and display PDF documents, then you will be able to view the diagrams on it. You may have to purchase a PDF application for your device if it is not already installed. PDF documents are ideal for mobile devices since they are easily scalable.

What is the difference between a diagram set and a collection?

A diagram set may be a single Gospel or Epistle, or a grouping of several letters. Examples of a grouping of several letters are Epistles to the Colossians & Philemon, Epistles to the Thessalonians, Epistles to Timothy & Titus, Epistles of Peter & Jude, and Epistles of John.

A collection consists of multiple diagram sets. For example, the Prison Epistles Collection includes Epistle to the Ephesians, Epistle to the Philippians, and Epistles to the Colossians & Philemon. The other current available collections are the Luke & Acts Collection, Pauline Epistles Collection, General Epistles Collection, Master Diagram Upgrade Collection, and the Master Diagram Collection. Others collections will become available in the future, such as the Four Gospels and the Johannine Writings.

There is always substantial savings when purchasing a collection versus individual diagram sets. For example, the Prison Epistles Collection is more than 25% less than purchasing the separate diagram sets. The absolute best savings involves purchasing the Master Diagram Collection (if you have not purchased any diagrams beforehand), or the Master Diagram Upgrade (if you have purchased one ore more diagram sets or collections).

What is the difference between the Master Diagram and Master Diagram Upgrade Collections?

faq

The Master Diagram Collection is offered in addition to the individual diagram sets that may be separately purchased. The collection combines all available diagram sets from NTGreek In Diagram Series into a single bookmarked PDF document, including both screen and printer optimized pages. This collection is specially designed for those who have NOT purchased any diagrams from the NTGreek In Diagram Series and wishes to have the entire collection. Furthermore, free updates are available to anyone who purchases the Master Diagram Collection.

The Master Diagram Upgrade is especially beneficial for those who have previously purchased diagrams, but now desire to have the entire collection. In a way, it is a "do-over" without any monetary penalties, for the upgrade path reimburses 100% of ALL previously purchase amounts up to the current Master Diagram Collection's price.

What Greek font is used for the diagrams?

The SPIonic Greek 14pt font is embedded into all files. However, it may be necessary to install the font on your computer to view correctly the diagrams on the screen and/or before attempting to print any of the diagrams; otherwise, funny little characters and creatures will be staring back at you. Instructions are included with your purchase as to how to install the font on your computer platform. The procedure normally takes less than one minute. SPIonic Font

How are the diagrams organized?

The diagrams are organized under three boldface hierarchical headings: Chapters, Overviews, and Print. The diagrams under these respective headings provide different arrangements for various requirements and interests.

  • Chapters
  • The Chapters contains letter-size pages, both in portrait and landscape orientation. Those who study the Greek Testament at home or use a laptop/tablet during Greek class will especially benefit from this convenient grouping of pages.

These screen-optimized diagrams are easy to view and navigate irrespective of a page's inherent orientation. Use the mouse's scrolling wheel, the appropriate keyboard arrow keys, and/or the bookmarks to locate quickly a particular location.

The bookmark pane appears to the left when the document initially opens. Otherwise, the document opens to your page display default preferences. You may change your display preferences at any time. In addition, the Adobe Select & Zoom toolbar makes changing the magnification of PDF documents a breeze that enhances viewing pleasure.

A title page appears before the Chapters. The corresponding single-page chapter overviews follow these diagrams.

  • Overviews
  • Overviews contain sequential single-page chapter diagrams. These overviews are demonstratively unique in the field of diagramming the Greek New Testament and are exclusively available at NTGreek In Diagram.

So, what is an overview? It is a single-page, comprehensive chapter diagram without any spatial barriers. It combines all the chapter's multiple pages into one page. Each overview's length and breadth varies, depending on a chapter's requirements. Most overviews are more than twelve inches in breadth and forty inches long. However, they are easily scalable and readable on a computer and tablet screens.

The purpose for chapter overviews is extremely practical. Foremost, they visually represent the author's continuity of thought without the annoyance of physical page breaks. Each overview presents the "big picture," a blueprint of the author's development of his subject. Also, because they remove a page's breadth restriction, they allow the proper aligning where syntactical structures were purposely maligned due to space limitations on its multi-page chapter counterpart.

Those who teach the Scriptures from the Greek text, such as professors at Bible colleges and seminaries, favor these comprehensive chapter overviews because of the navigational ease between chapters. But more importantly, at the same time syntax and structure is explained in conjunction with a LCD projector, a student's understanding exponentially increases between grammar, syntax, and discourse analysis. The latter is stimulated because of the added discourse markings on the diagrams, for they visually indicate how the smaller units integrate into the larger discourse units. Greek diagrams are usually presented as fragmentary units, separated from the larger overall structure of its context--until now!

  • Print
  • The Print portion of the document contains portrait and landscape orientated pages that are letter-size. However, some printers cannot properly format mixed pages in the same file. The information on a landscape's page is invariably cropped. To remedy this issue, all landscape pages are rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise into portrait orientation. Whereas all the diagrams may be viewed, the landscape's side-way orientated pages will prove too difficult to read.

The Print pages purposely do NOT contain any over-sized chapter pages like the Overviews. Otherwise, most printers' page size limitations would cause the printer to stall. The Chapter and Overview documents are screen-optimized; the Print documents are printer-optimized.

This set includes a title page and all pages are also bookmarked. These printer-friendly pages are conveniently placed at the end of the document to facilitate printing a portion or all the pages at one time.

Do you include an English translation with the Greek diagrams?

An English translation would only hamper you learning Greek (as do Greek-English interlinears). Why? So many translations exist because the English language cannot render an exact translation from the Greek New Testament.

First and foremost, the Greek language is highly inflected. Inflection allows an author to encode meaning--something that is lost in EVERY English translation. Furthermore, every Greek word and idiom has a semantic range of meaning, and that range in Greek can only be approximately represented in English.

Any translation's stance on verbal inspiration is mirrored in the manner in which it is translated. If a translation substitutes a noun for the original author's verb, an "a" for "the," replaces a subjunctive with an indicative, a past tense for a present, and so forth, at best, the translation work has been seriously compromised, and at worst, the importance of verbal inspiration has been denied to the reader.

Verbal inspiration extends only to the original wording and sentece order of Scripture. There is not a translation in existence that can replicate the original, no matter how widely accepted, revered, or good it is proported to be.

Instead of translating, many people do not realize that translations "interpret" the author's "real" intent, as if they know better what should, ought, and/or might have been written rather than what they actually wrote. They legitmize their alteration of the original word(s) on the premise that the reader is actually aided by such help! When a translation succumbs to this subjective approach, no matter how slight, verbal inspiration diminishes proportionally, and it is as much disregarded as if it had no value.

So, in short, I would not dare rob you from discovering the great treasures in the Greek New Testament by offering an English translation. Ask yourself, did you learn Greek only to be repetively enslaved to an English translation? If so, then why learn Greek at all?

It is my sincerest desire that the diagrams offered help to make Greek syntax and structure more vividly alive and meaningful as you study the inspired Word of God. The diagrams are publically offered with the firm-rooted belief in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Greek Scriptures.

May I copy the diagrams to my home and work computers?

All documents' names may be changed and saved to any folder or folders on your home and/or work computers.

What Greek text or texts are used for the diagrams?

The United Bible Societies' 4th Revised Edition is usually followed. However, the Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graece and the Greek New Testament According to the Majority Text are also consulted for structural considerations.

Greek Texts

Are the diagrams available in a bound format or on a DVD or CD?

cd There are not any plans--nor will there ever be any plans--to publish the diagrams in a bound format (sorry Random House) or on a DVD or CD. The reason is simple. The most current edition of any collection or diagram set is always available 24/7/365 days a year from the server. Information in a bound format or on a DVD or CD becomes obsolete as soon as an update becomes available. And frankly, I do not want an old edition floating around when a new edition is available.

The reason to store information on an archaic DVD or CD has long passed. With the advent of mobile devices, hand-held tablets (you go IPad!), cloud services, and readily available access to the Internet, information is easily retrievable from a remote server. In addition, old discarded CDs fill up the landfills--as does practically everything else we buy.

Of course, you may print the diagrams and compile them into a bound format if you wish to do so. I do not. I use my computer and almost exclusively view the chapter overviews. Except to edit, I have yet printed an entire diagram set to this day.

------------------------------------------

*This is my one and only PSA. I have fulfilled my civic duty.

How did you choose the title NTGreek In Diagram?

cd All Greek diagrams are concerning the New Testament Greek text. So the "NTGreek" portion is easy to understand. In the past, I used Adobe's graphic program "PageMaker" to compose all the diagrams until they changed the branding to "InDesign." So the designation "InDiagram" is a play on words from the graphic program I use. InDesign permits me to make unlimited special graphics for diagramming purposes and to keep them organized in a library. I simply drag them onto the pasteboard when needed and align the Greek type with them. The program also allows me to align all elements exactly by the 4000% zoom feature. Also, because I use Adobe's Acrobat program to convert InDesign files to PDFs, the program has a built-in bridge between the two programs that makes the conversion seamless.

The title, NTGreek In Diagram is copyrighted. The copyright does not permit anyone else to use the same title to brand their products. All diagrams are branded under this copyright, as well as An Exegtical Library Edition. The latter is a broader title to include all works that I develop using the Greek or Hebrew Scriptures.

Are English diagrams available from NTGreek In Diagram?

"The Greek New Testament is the New Testament; all else is translation" (A.T. Robertson).

Does anything else need to be said? Perhaps . . .

No

. . . and never will be. Why waste time on a translation?

The study of Greek may be viewed as the proper understanding of verbal, plenary inspiration. If we do indeed believe that every word in the original autograph was inspired by God, then should we not be diligently studying His message to us in its original form? When truth from God's Word is extracted that was previously indiscernible from a translation, then we succeed in our goal; not because of what was translated, but because of what has been revealed from God. Furthermore, since the Greek Greek New Testament is the Word of God, and the doctrine of biblical inspiration is what it is, then a thorough knowledge of biblical Greek is not a luxury, but indispensable.

Will there be updates and how much will they cost?

Dollar Sign The diagrams are periodically updated to reflect corrections and innovations in diagramming style. There is NEVER an additional charge for updates. If you wish to receive a notification when an update becomes available, then be sure to subscribe to the Notification Service. When an update becomes available, you will be notified by email ASAP. However, unless you subscribe to the Notification Service, you will not receive any further email messages from me unless you first initiate contact.

Many voluntary opt-in services are thinly veiled scams to fll up your email box with flyers to buy something and/or sell your email address to associated vendors for profit. I think this tactic is wrong. The sole purpose for this service is to notify you when a new update is available. It is that simple.

Why am I not receiving any update notifications?

There may be several reasons why you are not receiving notifications. These include:

  • You did not subscribe to the notification service.
    Solution: Subscribe!
    URL: Subscribe

  • The email address used to purchase the diagrams is no longer valid.
    Solution: Update your email address.
    URL: Update Email Address

  • A special spam filter does not allow emails from diagrams@inthebeginning.org to be received.

All notifications are sent out as plain text. Furthermore, I NEVER solicit you to purchase something else. You also have the option with every notification to unsubscribe from the service.

Why am I being denied access when I use the correct username and password?

In the very, very rare event this occurs, please check your firewall security options. Be sure that they are set to allow access to the following domain: https://www.inthebeginning.org.

After I download a PDF document, it will not open. What is wrong?

The only restriction imposed on the PDF document is that it must be at least 5.x compatible. If the document does not open, be sure that you have the latest Adobe Reader.

How long have you been diagramming the Greek text?

William Ramey

I have been diagramming the Greek New Testament for more than forty-three years. I began when I was eighteen years old and I celebrated my sixty-first birthday on July 31st. Many years ago, I diagrammed by using a pencil and a lot of paper. Later, I used an IBM Selectric typewriter with hand-drawn lines drawn on the paper. Technological advances throughout the years have permitted me now to diagram with ease. And now when I wish to update a diagram set, I do not need to recompose the entire page--like I had to do beforehand. The software that I presently use to compose the diagrams is Adobe's InDesign. I really, really like using Adobe InDesign for diagramming. Although the entry price is rather steep, I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in making their own diagrams.

In case you would like to see what I look like, I am pictured above, posing for a picture before a friend and I rode on a cool October day in 2012. The touring bicycle is a Tout Terrain Panamericana with 26 inch wheels. When I am not diagramming, you can find me touring the countryside.

My claim to fame is being captured on film by a GoogleMap's trolling vehicle in the area where I was riding on September 2011 between 8626-8538 Prospect Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri. I am not hard to see, for I am the lone bicyclist wearing the neon yellow jersey.

Since purchasing the bicycle from Peter White Cycles in early 2009, I have ridden this particular bicycle over 8,000 miles. While I ride, I like to memorize portions of the Greek New Testament as part of my preparation for diagramming.
